The Dutch company, emdv BV, is an online dating provider that has never created a single legit website as far as we know. We haven’t found a single genuine profile of theirs that we could review positively. This company from Ter Aar continuously duplicates their profiles on other websites they own with the same fake chat rip-offs but aimed at different audiences. When it comes to SMSecretContact.com, they are trying to scam people who are into sadomasochism. This particular target group will be looking for someone sharing the same kinks.

Deceitful landing page

On the landing page, there is an image of a lady practicing the art of shibari, a Japanese style of bondage. There are supposedly many fans in the SM community. The site also has a carousel of explicit images in smaller formats, and users are invited to join the website for free. According to the webpage, SMSecretContact.com has over 300,000 members. When we were evaluating the site, the webpage said that more than 100,000 were currently online. Those figures are simply ridiculous, but you may not notice if you don’t have a lot of experience with these treacherous websites.

If users pay close attention to the little disclaimer at the bottom of the page, they may see a warning that shouldn’t be ignored. The text in the disclaimer clearly explains that the profiles on the website are “partially” fictitious so you shouldn’t expect to find a real meeting here. In other words, the operator has manufactured a fake chat service, and they expect you to pay for it.

In particular, this license includes the right of Emdv BV to duplicate, display, modify, translate, scan, use for publicity purposes, whether commercial or non-commercial, sublicense or transfer any content related to Profiles (information, photos, video footage, descriptions, search criteria, etc.)

Pay to chat

The main problem we have with this website is that the fictitious profiles constantly contact new visitors without disclosing the fact that they aren’t real people. Therefore, if users haven’t read the fine print, they may think they have a chance to find an easy hook-up. This is disingenuous since users will be charged an outrageous fee per message sent to these phony characters.

Some users may be willing to have some fun with a pricey digital flirt. However, the truth is that most people falling for this will have no idea what is going on. At least not until it is too late, and they have already spent a fortune.
