The online dating site SexyRootRats.com advertises with a free registration and all the right tools to find like-minded people with ease. The landing page looks elegant but fails to deliver useful information concerning the use of the site. We also cannot find any proper reviews for SexyRootRats.com. However, we manage to find out what this dating site is all about. Unfortunately, this site is merely a fake chat scam.
The existence of fictitious profiles is not just a blind guess, the operator even tells us about it. The statement announcing the use of moderated fake profiles is well hidden, otherwise the scam would not work. The users are supposed to believe that the other members are sincere. This way they will invest more money in chatting. The company behind this rip-off is Gate Switch Development BV based in Deventer, in the Netherlands.

The landing page makes a good first impression, although nothing much is mentioned about how SexyRootRats.com works. The site claims to be “Australia’s new top hit in online contact”. Furthermore, the operator protects the user’s privacy. Before entering the landing page, we receive a notice which we must accept. This is where you can find the first evidence for the fake chat scam on this site. While the notice only seems to be an announcement concerning uncensored and sexually explicit content, there is also another statement worth looking at.
This important fact should have been made more visible. There is a good reason why the operator wants this to remain a secret. The fictitious profiles allow the operator to let employees interact with the users without getting recognized. This trick is further explained in the terms and conditions.

The purpose of this website is to enable (erotic) chat conversations between fictitious profiles and users and contains fictitious profiles. Physical meetings are not possible with these fictitious profiles.

An easy way to generate money
Sending messages to the other members comes at a cost. On SexyRootRats.com you can purchase virtual “credits” in the shop. For each message, you send in the chat, you are charged one credit, which can cost you more than 3 AUD. It goes without saying that several entertaining conversations are more expensive than just basic small talk. The employees of the company, functioning as fake chat operators, seduce the users in the chat to make them spend their money. This is basically how every fake chat scam works.
SexyRootRats.com is run by Gate Switch Development BV, a company located in the Dutch city of Deventer. The company from the Netherlands operates a bigger network of scam dating sites, which all seem to come with an expensive chat and moderated fake profiles. In fact, we were able to find several negative reviews for the dating sites run by this Dutch operator.

Our experience with the dating site SexyRootRats.com was negative. Do not fall for the claims made on the landing page. This cannot be one of the best dating sites in Australia, simply because the other members are not genuine. They are employees of the operator who manage to trick the users thanks to the fictitious profiles they use. It is their task to make chatting as expensive as possible, which is why this is a rip-off.
