The dating platform MeetACowboy.com.au.au looks simple and basic, at first sight. We see a cowboy riding a horse. He is held by his cowgirl. The photo looks posed, and not authentic. We completed the registration process. After that, it appears that the provider reviews our profile, and we will receive an email once our profile is approved. So far, so good.

We did some research about this website. Unfortunately, we did not find any reviews, or experiences, concerning this website. However, we know, from other reviews, of FBM Online Connections LTD, from Greater London, in the UK, that they offer subscriptions with auto-renewal. Which brings us to the Terms and Conditions.

Please note that WE USE AN AUTOMATIC RE-BILL CYCLE ACCORDING TO YOUR SELECTED PAYMENT OPTION. When you purchase a one-month or shorter subscription to the Site, unless you cancel such membership at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to its expiration, your subscription will automatically renew at the then current monthly subscription rate.

If you purchase a three month or longer subscription to the Site, unless you cancel such membership at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to its expiration, your subscription will automatically renew at a subscription rate equivalent to the amount paid by you for the subscription divided by the number of months of your subscription.

Subscription and auto-renewal

As we can see in the Terms and Conditions, they use the same membership options as on their other websites. These are a 5-day trial version, a 1-month subscription, or a 3-month subscription. The cancellation period is 24 hours, and your membership will automatically renew, if you do not cancel it on time. Cancelling is the tricky part, and this is exactly where the provider is doing the subscription rip-off.

24 hours seems to be enough time to cancel a membership. But the point is that the user must send a request to customer support. This is the place where the operator can play his cards and leave you waiting. We depend on their response, and they will most probably come with too-late an answer, or no answer. This is how the scam works.

Using your profile for other websites

Another point that we do not like is that the company can use our uploaded photos, or videos, for other websites or services. We authorize the company to do so by signing up and accepting the Terms and Conditions. No one wants to see their own cowboy or cowgirl photos used for another website.
