Report for LoveAt50.com.au review

LoveAt50.com.au claims to be a legit online dating platform. But after conducting research on the internet, we found a lot of negative reviews. Former users were highly dissatisfied. And some allege this website is a cheeky scam. Its profiles are fictitious. A fake profile shows a fictitious person with whom a date in real life is not possible. Plus, these fake profiles are controlled by fake chat operators.

Fake chat operators will start a chat. While chatting, they will not inform the user that moderation is occurring. Their goal is to encourage new members to chat. The user has to purchase premium membership to reply. This form of paid membership appears to be a cheeky subscription rip-off. Automatic renewal is used to trap the user into recurring payment. The site operator is Alpha Internet Services GmbH, which is based in Innsbruck, Austria.

Details on the LoveAt50.com.au review

The online dating site LoveAt50.com.au looks like a good choice. This website has a nice appearance. But we spotted a huge problem as soon as we saw its landing page. This didn’t contain a single item of useful information. Well, we know registration is free. But this is obviously far too little. In our experience, transparency is the first indicator of how reliable a choice a website is. From this point of view, this website makes a very bad impression.

Bad reputation

Moreover, we did some research on the internet. While conducting our research, we found a lot of reviews about this site, all of which were negative. Former users had a bad experience using this site. Its reputation is dreadful. So we checked the portal’s legal information. It only took a short while before we found proof of a rip-off.

This website uses fake profiles. Fake chat operators control these fake profiles. They will start a chat. While chatting, the fake chat operators will not identify themselves as fictitious people. This is one problem. Another is that fake profiles are not marked as fake. In a nutshell, users do not know about moderation. So this platform is a cheeky scam with fake chat.

Excerpt from the Terms & Conditions (as of 02/09/2023)

LoveAt50 makes every effort to ensure that the profiles shown in the matching list are only private users that adhere to LoveAt50´s rules of use. To ensure this with a high quality, LoveAt50 uses various technical as well as manual mechanisms to identify users/members with inappropriate behavior or unfair interests and, if necessary, to exclude them immediately. The user/member is also aware that LoveAt50 uses so-called animators to motivate users/members to communicate interactively. These are real people. However, the user / member is aware that he cannot meet the animators in real life.

The goal of moderation

According to reviews on the internet, it all starts right after registration. A new member receives a lot of messages from other members. Sadly, all profiles are fictitious. Real meetings are not possible, according to information on the internet. However, there is more. High costs will arise after registration. Paid premium membership is needed to chat. The subscription for this form of membership will be renewed automatically.

In principle, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But in practice on this site, automatic renewal is used as a trap. We found reports alleging a scam with a subscription trap. The site operator is Alpha Internet Services GmbH, which is based in Innsbruck, Austria.

The conclusion from our LoveAt50.com.au review

LoveAt50.com.au is a rip-off with fake chat and a subscription trap. The first sign of a bad website choice is poor transparency. But all profiles on this website are fake. A fake profile shows a fictitious person with whom a date in real life is not possible. These fake profiles are moderated by fake chat operators. The goal of moderation is to lure new members into a cheeky subscription trap.

Loveat50

This site is a scam and they do not let you cancel your subscription unless you fax them or send the cancel code via registered post to them in Austria. I cancelled my credit card as they still haven’t cancelled my subscription after emailing last September and October then sending a fax in November they have just emailed saying I owe the 179.00 subscription fee plus $45 in charges that must be paid by the 5th feb to there Austrian bank account or they will pass to the debt collector and it will affect my credit score. I have now blocked them from email. Oh and not one real person or date from this site all fake profiles and chats

KK

I canceled and they still charge. I had to cancel my credit card and place a dispute in with the bank to stop charging me. Scam site managed by scam people with fake profiles.

Denny

agree this is a scam .ask a question to 2 different woman and got the same 10 work one day apart, yeah .

Brian

I agree with the above emails that site is the biggest scam ever you why are they still allowed to operate in the country

Jay

These bastards I can’t stop there 30 emails every day I can’t unsubscribe or block any emails Even when I’m blocking them individually I’m still getting emails from blocked senders There is nothing in my settings to stop notifications Does anybody have any idea how I can stop this ? PLEASE HELP

Linda

I agree with everything above. The fax doesn't work. The emails aren't returned. I cancelled my CC and now have threatening emails from them. Has anyone at this point actually had action taken against them?

Raedene

I'm very angry with myself for not doing research. They processed a triple payment from my bank account. I've requested my bank to stop it as it is a scam, but know I won't get the money back should they not succeed. The transaction is still showing as "pending", so I'm still hoping. When I enquired from Loveat50 about the triple payment, I just got an email indicating that they "can't refund payments"...no explanation as to why the triple payment. I can't see where I can delete my account, as the link to delete it opens a new email. I sent an email to delete but worry they don't cancel it, then have the audacity to use my account/info to scam someone else. I went to change all my info into garbage, I blocked my virtual bank card as I don't want to take a chance that they deduct again. The matches all came back with "hi can we chat" or "where do you live" or "", etc. but then no further communication...

Bella

I got very drunk and signed up to this site, luckily my bank stopped the payment, they tried to get $193 out of me there isn't a subscription for that amount, total waste of time Now I can't delete my account so have turned off all notifications and blocked the email address

I to have had problems with this site. They lost my profile and then told me that I didn't have any matches or they had already found a partner. I have make contact with some but they never return. I did get onto one who did talk to me but he ended up being a scammer. Starting to wonder if he was working for the site. I got ripped off $300+.

Sally

My experience of this site is exactly the same as what is below. I wish I had found these reviews before signing up.

flori

totally a scam and fraudulent behaviur because they use Direct Debit without having authorization for. To cancel one needs to send a signed FAX which never works, so only option is to cancell the CC and report them to the Federal Police and Austrian police. also i believe their matched members do not exist. They should be closed down.

Keith

I also took out a 1 month subscription for R199. Next month they debited my card for R999. I had to cancel my card. Dut dispute with bank & they unable to help. I got an email demanding R999 plus R500. Ignoring them as a scam site

Lisa

I am the same. I clicked a box to pay weekly at $14.90 and as soon as I entered my card details $193.70 was debited from my account. The bank looked into it for me and found nothing foreboding which was disappointing. I cancelled my card immediately have emailed to cancelled numerous times and have received no answer. The profiles are definitely robotic and not in this country. This is a scam, which is humiliating and frustrating.......Totally Beware!!!

Emily

I have just signed up last week and just looked at my bank account which has been debited $358!!!!! How can I get this back...?

Simon Rasmussen

My experience is that around 80-95% of the profiles were fake. e.g. one profile was clearly ripped from POF website as it said so in the profile. Most responders were clearly not Australian whilst purporting to be in Brisbane. They knew nothing about Brisbane. And yes they are failing to cancel/terminate my subscription now. They say I need to fax or registered mail to Austria a cancellation letter - personally signed. I actually thought this was the 21st century. The fax does not work, I tried it, many times. This is clearly a scam to try to extort further monies. BIG MISTAKE on my part ever signing up to this site. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

lindsay

i got trapped and now dont know how to cancel my account - probably have to cancel my credit card so they dont slug me again

Alison

My biggest regret is that I didn't do research before signing up with this site. There is nothing but fake profiles on the website and to top it off they have now taken a huge amount of money off my account, I only signed up for a month subscription. They are theives and make it extremely difficult for you to cancel your subscription. I have submitted a fraud claim to my bank!! They definitely need to be shut down!!!!

FRANK SMITH

Loveat50 is totally rip-off TOTAL FAKE

Pete

Same. Fake profile that won’t meet, then start calling you honey when you’ve barely started chatting. Expensive rip off.

Janek

I have just been ripped off of$200how do I get my money back from these rippofs

Sweetie

As noted above, if anyone signs up to a subscription they are locked in unless they mail (ie post) a letter to Austria where the operator is based. Alternatively the subscriber can use a fax... really? In addition, the site takes personality tested information from the user, but does not allow that person to see that information unless a subscription is paid BUT it publishes that information to all other users. This is not made clear up front. Also as above, the ts and cs allow for fake chat. Overall the entire site is set up to entice user to go premium and then make it virtually impossible to terminate the subscription. Note the premiums are very high.

Roy Gorry

I’ve had exactly the same problem mentioned above. I have been contacted by fake profiles all replying with the same comments. In some cases the sentences are exactly the same - word for word. When you try to connect with the person by meeting up or even just a phone call the conversation just goes around in circles. Then to cancel your account subscription, you have to either fax or send a registered letter to do so. The fax numbers they give you simply don’t work. The registered mail must be received in Austria at least a month before the renewal date or it can’t be cancelled. What a load of bullshit. All other sites only require a click of a button or an email to cancel. They need to be shut down.
