Initially, the dating platform KissAKiwi.com seems like a decent choice. The portal advertises with free registration, a secure online environment and a constantly growing community of singles who are looking for flirts and fun. For this review, we created a personal profile, explored the feature-set, and closely inspected the terms and conditions. Furthermore, we browsed the internet in search of user experiences and reviews. Our research revealed that KissAKiwi.com is not as great as it appears to be at first sight. In fact, it is nothing but a rip-off.
Costly fake chat scam
Whilst signing up and creating a profile is 100% free, using the site’s chat feature certainly isn’t. To communicate with other members via the chat, users must first purchase so-called “credits”. These “credits” are like a virtual currency, which can be exchanged for sending messages in the chat. Due to the fact that every single sent message costs between $2.05 – $2.70, chatting here can rapidly become incredibly expensive.
After studying the terms and conditions, we discovered that the site’s member profiles do not belong to real singles. Instead, they were created and are controlled by professional “fake chat” operators, who were employed by KissAKiwi.com. Consequently, the displayed “members” are fictitious and meeting them in real life is impossible. Therefore, the costly chat-experience is nothing but a waste of time.
Excerpt from the Terms & Conditions (as of 02/09/2023)
kissakiwi.com has the goal of allowing users to flirt. kissakiwi.com is the platform for users to chat with fictive profiles. The website, service and content are being provided for entertainment purposes only and are not intended to be used for establishing meetings with other users.
Unfortunately, many users are not at all aware that they can only interact with fake profiles here. All relevant information regarding the fictitious members can easily be overlooked, as can only be found in the fine print and the terms and conditions. As we see it, users are deliberately kept in the dark about the fact that they cannot meet any real singles.
They believe in their chances of finding a date and spend as much money as possible on the expensive “credits”. The company behind this cheeky scam is Doca Web Services BV, from Deventer, in the Netherlands. We have already written several reviews about them and their other rip-off websites.
