Are you looking for excitement in your life? HotMatureSingles.com is advertised as an online dating website for adults looking for fun and exciting contacts. With the promise of free registration and new members signing up every day, adults wanting hot dates may click to join without hesitation. The landing page seems credible with photos of middle-aged girl-next-door-types and written testimonials with photos from two female members. With additional claims of discreet and anonymous services and reliable profiles all checked by hand, one may believe they have found a trustworthy, dating community.
However, this site is owned and operated by Festivus Media BV, of the Netherlands, a company well-known for running fake-chat scams across the globe. A review of the landing page and the Terms and Conditions revealed to us that the company uses fictitious profiles. As a result, physical arrangements such as face-to-face dates are not possible. This company creates profiles, sends fraudulent messages, and then demands members pay to engage with those fake profiles. To gain access to essential features such as sending and receiving messages requires additional payment.

HotMatureSingles.com is run by Festivus Media BV, a Netherlands-based company that has become notorious for its fake chat schemes. Across the globe are countless adult men and women who have been duped into believing they are paying to chat with other genuine adults, only to later realize that real-life meetings will never materialize.

The fake chat scam model for this site matches many of its sister sites. Users must purchase credits to chat with fictitious profiles. While no evidence of a subscription rip-off is found, members must pre-pay for credits: 1 credit to receive or send 1 message; 1 credit to receive or send 1 wink. On the pricing page, we found the price of each interaction ranges from £1.05 – £1.47 depending on the package. Since users pay for interactions, one can see how credits are quickly used, especially when profiles are fictitious. Messages are automatically generated and can be sent willy-nilly.
Do members have any rights or recourse after they realize they have been duped? The short answer is yes and no. Under European law, members can cancel their contract for purchased credits within 14 days. However, if and when members realize that they have been conned into a purely digital experience with no possibility of a real-life meet-up, then too bad! As outlined in its Terms and Conditions, Festivus Media BV, assumes no warranty for any damage or inconvenience caused using its services. The onus is on the members to read the fine print of all legal disclaimers.
