The dating site Aussie-Cougars.com advertises with free registration and the prospect of meeting mature women in your neighbourhood. We came across numerous scam dating sites with similar promises, which is why we have trust issues with this site. By conducting further research, we hope to find out more about this Australian dating site. This one comes with many restrictions for non-paying users. You shouldn’t spend your money on here, either. Aussie-Cougars.com is a so-called subscription rip-off.
While using the site as a basic member, you are constantly being told that purchasing the VIP membership is pretty much the only way to go. This paid subscription is needed to read and send chat messages. However, we have enough reason to believe that not all of the other members are genuine. We suspect that generated fake profiles are used to lure real users into a subscription trap. The site is operated by Date4Friend AG from Zug, in Switzerland.

The landing page of Aussie-Cougars.com is visually appealing but doesn’t come with a lot of information. Apparently, we are supposed to sign up right away. Before we did so, we decided to do some online research upfront. This dating site isn’t popular at all. We are wondering how we are supposed to find anyone from our neighbourhood on here. In fact, we couldn’t really get in touch with anyone before signing up for an expensive subscription. The operator makes it especially hard to cancel the subscriptions on this site.
Our inbox is filling up with messages
As part of our research for this review, we decided to create an account. In order to make it easier for us to find the right member, Aussie-Cougars.com generated a list of fitting matches. It is however, hard to tell if the members presented by the operator are actually interesting. Most of the other members’ profile information is hidden from us. On top of that, we only got to see blurred profile photos.
All of these restrictions can be removed by signing up for the VIP membership. VIP members can also read and write messages with everyone. As a non-paying member, you are only allowed to send messages to certain members. You can’t even read their replies without upgrading your membership for money. We haven’t added any information to our profile but still managed to draw some attention on the site. We received more and more messages.
Nothing but a cheap trick?
We are convinced that “fake chat” operators are behind the messages we received. By operating the fake profiles and providing users with messages they can’t read, there is no other option than to upgrade their membership. While there is no proof for the existence of these profiles, we have dealt with enough fake chat scams to know how to spot one.
The VIP membership renews automatically, making it a subscription trap. The period of notice for termination is exactly 14 days. This interesting fact is well-hidden. From experience, we knew that a lot of people will end up paying for at least one additional term this way. Aussie-Cougars.com is run by Date4Friend AG based in Zug, Switzerland. In previous reviews, we already shared our experience with the company. The Swiss operator tends to casually ignore cancellations. This is also the case here, which is reason enough to stay away from this subscription rip-off.
The conclusion from our Aussie-Cougars.com review
This hasn’t been our first review of a rip-off operated by Date4Friend AG. Aussie-Cougars.com makes promising claims on the landing page, but fails to really get you a date with mature women in your neighbourhood. Once you sign up for the VIP membership, you have already lost. We know from experience that cancellations are often ignored by the Swiss operator.
