I wanted premium for only 9 dollars per week … BUT when I read small print, after entering my credit card details, it would snap up 453.00 plus! VAN AN AUTHORITY SHUT DOWN THIS SCAM SHIT PLEASE?
When looking at the home page of 40sMeet.co.nz, it pictures an image of a happy couple. This appears to be a promising place, where singles over 40 can meet and date. The website advertises itself as being safe, discreet, and easy to use. 40sMeet.co.nz seems like a great dating site, but a deeper look into the terms and conditions revealed otherwise. It is a fake chat scam, which populates its website with false profiles. Though it is free to create an account, registered users who want to chat, must make an additional purchase of a subscription.
Therefore, members will spend large amounts of money while having very little chance of meeting anyone. Additionally, we have had previous experience with the company which operates 40sMeet.co.nz. Alpha Internet Services GmbH is based in Innsbruck, in Austria. This company has received a negative review from us in the past and has a poor reputation on the internet. Many users claim that this company trapped them in subscription payments, which were impossible to cancel, or refund.

At first glance, 40sMeet.co.nz seems to be the perfect place for 40+ singles to meet like-minded people to date. They advertise that registration is free and easy, and that they are a reliable dating portal. Unfortunately, in our research we found that this is not true, and we cannot recommend using this platform.
We read through the user experience reviews about another Alpha Internet Services GmbH dating portal. Many of those remarked upon the large amount of seemingly fake profiles that they interacted with. When reading through the terms of service, we found that 40sMeet.co.nz uses what they call ‘animators’ to motivate and entertain users. These animators are fake chat operators, who cannot be met in real life and are hired by the website.
The user/member is also aware that 40SMEET uses so-called animators to motivate users/members to communicate interactively. These are real people. However, the user / member is aware that he cannot meet the animators in real life. Both users and members can contact the animators at any time either write to them proactively or get contacted by them to communicate with them through the website. The user/member is also aware that a contact through the animator in forms of a visit may happen in the first days after registration when the contacts could be low.
Operators create fake profiles to interact with users. Supposedly, the purpose of these fake profiles is to enhance the entertainment of members. But in our experience, they are used for attracting users, with invitations to chat. Thereby, luring them into purchasing an expensive subscription.
Upon registration, users are immediately greeted with messages, which appear to be real. This encourages users to quickly purchase a subscription. However, this is a trap. These messages were sent by fake chat operators. It is likely that the profiles shown on 40sMeet.co.z are almost all false. They have been created by the operating company; therefore, this website is a rip-off and a scam. This is not a likely place to find a date.
You purchase a subscription, to chat with other users and utilize the other features of the website. However, it will automatically renew, unless members cancel it in time. The window for canceling the subscription is quite vague, and easy to misinterpret. So, this could easily lead to a subscription trap. The operator of this website, Alpha Internet Services GmbH, who are based in Austria, is known on internet review forums for this scam.
Unfortunately, 40sMeet.co.nz is most likely a fake chat scam. It attempts to rip off its members by using false profiles. If members want to send messages, they must first purchase a subscription, which is difficult to cancel. For these reasons, we do not recommend having an account on this website. Users will be enticed into spending a lot of money for very little in return. The chances of meeting anyone here are low.

Expensive subscription ($599+ NZD per year), rubbish content on site, rubbish profiles (scraped from other dating sites), No option for a pay once only subscription - only recurring and the only way to cancel is to send physically signed letter to the Austria based company physically or by fax. Ts and Cs state you must also provide the reason for cancel - cancel code and that this can be found on a specific page in the site (no information found). I am so angry. I tried to cancel this months ago - obviously unsuccessfully as I got another $599.88 NZD debited from my credit card. I have now had to cancel my credit card and arrange issue of a new one to prevent further deductions.
