    Report for DownUnderDates.com review

Australian online dating website DownUnderDates.com.au promises to get users in touch with each other quickly and for free. However, once registered, the only way to interact with other users is by applying for a Premium Membership. After digging a little deeper, we find out that many user profiles are fake.

The company running this platform is Casual Networks BV, headquartered in the Netherlands. From our research, the company seems to be well known for running online dating websites. But they aim at scamming potential users through fake chats. Most of their user reviews are negative.

    Details on the DownUnderDates.com review

At a first sight, the online dating website DownUnderDates.com.au looks promising. Once the user accesses the landing page, it looks like a standard online dating website with a free registration form and the photo of a young woman.

Scrolling down, the webpage explains how quick and easy it is to meet other people through this platform. Be it for making new friends, flirting, or having more intimate relationships. We can also see several photos of other women who are supposed to be members already. Everything looks good up to here. We decide to investigate further to find out using our experience, whether it is a rip-off or not.

    Free registration is a rip-off

Once you have registered for free on DownUnderDates.com.au, there is in fact, nothing else you can do. Premium membership is required to start chatting with other users. To do that, you are requested to purchase credit, which they refer to as “coins”. When you are finished with the free registration and manage to log in, you start receiving notifications from several users.

This quite suspicious. Moreover, other members’ photos are blurred. You will only be able to see them and start chatting with them if you pay “coins”. However, the platform provides this information on its terms and conditions page. So, strictly speaking, it is not a scam. But it is not to be fully trusted either. Because of this, we dig a little deeper looking for signs of a scam.

    Fake chat

Most of the alleged members the user chats with are in fact, fake profiles. Once we log in, we immediately start receiving message notifications from these members, which makes us wonder whether they are real or fictitious. DownUnderDates.com.au explains this in their terms and conditions page, referring to these fake profiles as “Cupid Users”.

    Here the excerpt

The service also offers a myriad of options, such as communicating, flirting and even potentially meeting another user in person, as well as numerous other portal functions such as communicating with the real-life profile of a user, as well as profiles created and managed by the CN (hereinafter referred to as Cupid User). The Cupid users can experience virtual and erotic fantasies exclusively; real-life dates are not supported. (see section 5 of the General Entertainment Guidelines). The communication with Cupid users is subject to charges and offers various options to converse and enjoy each other. Actual meetings and dates are only possible between actual users.

This makes it obvious that it is impossible to have an actual date in real life with these people. That brings us to the conclusion that it is a fake chat rip-off. The terms and conditions also state that the platform notifies you in case of a chat with a Cupid User by adding a letter C. This is only explained on the terms and conditions page. This means most users are unaware of that. They will end up paying to chat with a fake chat operator.

The company, Casual Networks BV, runs this and several other online dating websites. They have received numerous negative reviews about former users’ bad experiences.  They seem to be well known for numerous scams.

The conclusion from our DownUnderDates.com review

DownUnderDates.com.au looks like a normal online dating website. However, after further investigation, it becomes clear that it involves fake chats and has negative reviews overall. The platform is full of fake profiles which lure new users into paying to chat with them. Therefore, it is likely to be a rip-off, and we do not recommend anyone to give it a try.
