In our review of CrossdressAustralia.com, we found evidence of a fake chat scam. Furthermore, we have experience with the operator of the platform, Hubpeople Ltd. It seems that all the websites run by this company are a scam.
The evidence of fake chat operators
After registering, we received several messages from suspicious profiles. That is a bad sign. But it is not a surprise, because we know who the operator behind this platform is. In the past, we have seen the same kind of fake chat scams on other sites from the same company. Furthermore, there is evidence of this scam in the terms and conditions. There, we read that the company employees create “test dating profiles”. We know from experience that these profiles will get in touch with new users, to stimulate them to subscribe to the platform.
The following excerpt is from the terms and conditions
From time to time, the Company employees (or employees of its parent or affiliated companies) may create test dating profiles for the purpose of checking and testing the functionality of our Website and Service to improve the quality and user experience for its Users.
Cheap and dangerous trial memberships
Subscriptions here are not cheap. One month costs AUD 64.95. But we read in the terms and conditions that, occasionally, the company will offer cheaper trial membership. These memberships are especially dangerous. Like any other membership, they will renew automatically, and in the case of a trial membership, it will renew at the standard price. Furthermore, for a trial membership, the cancellation period will be too short, so most users will have problems terminating their subscriptions in time. This means that they will end up paying for an expensive monthly membership that they never wanted.
